If You’re in Seoul and you are EXO fans, Make Sure to Visit This Hidden Gem at The Hyundai Seoul!

Welcome to Korea!✋

If you're traveling in Seoul and plan to visit Yeouido Station by subway, here’s something important to keep in mind:

Yeouido is a major business district, so the station gets extremely crowded during rush hour, especially with office workers commuting.

To avoid the worst of it, try to take the subway before 5:30 PM. The time between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM is the busiest, and it can be really tough to get on a train — especially if you’re carrying luggage.

So if you want a smoother ride, it’s best to plan around that time!

If you’re planning to visit The Hyundai Seoul, make sure to check their closing days in advance.
The department store doesn’t close often, but it usually has a regular day off once a month — often on a Monday — so it’s a good idea to double-check the schedule before you go.

๐Ÿ‘‰check their closing days in advance

On the official website, there’s a calendar — make sure to check the dates marked in black, as those indicate closure days.

The Hyundai Seoul is closed once a month, usually just for a day, so it’s really important to check before you go.
I hope you don’t waste any of your precious travel time by showing up when it’s closed!

If you’re visiting The Hyundai Seoul, there’s one floor you absolutely have to check out — even locals make time just to come here.

It’s that special, and it’s not just about shopping — the space itself is an experience.

If you ever come to The Hyundai Seoul, there’s more to explore than just shopping. Here are the must-visit floors beyond the retail experience:

  • 6th Floor – Art & Culture Space
  • 5th Floor – Sounds Forest & Lifestyle Zone
  • B1 – Food Hall & Dessert Pop-Up Zone
  • B2 – Dining & Grocery Zone

On the 6th floor, you’ll often find art exhibitions taking place.
While there is usually an entrance fee, if you’re interested in art or cultural events, it’s definitely worth checking out.
It’s a great way to experience a more creative and inspiring side of The Hyundai Seoul.

The attractions on the 5th floor are always changing, with something new to see each time.
Let me share the pop-up stores and events happening this May!

Jjiraengi & Charles Pop-Up
May 3rd - May 13th

The pop-up features mascots inspired by artist D.O. (Do Kyungsoo), famous for their adorable penguin and peach characters.

The first pop-up took place in January at Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, and now the second pop-up is happening in Yeouido!

The mascot is named Jjiraengi, inspired by a cute, awkward penguin wearing a yellow bridge. The name comes from this quirky and fun design!

On the 5th floor, you’ll find a photo zone where kids will definitely love taking pictures with the character. It’s perfect for families!

It seems that Jjiraengi & Charles merchandise isn’t sold online.

These exclusive items can only be purchased at the pop-up, which is why EXO fans, especially those of D.O. (Do Kyungsoo), seem to be the main visitors!

While pre-reservations are already sold out, you can still make on-site reservations.

However, there's a small inconvenience — you’ll need to install the app to make a reservation, unlike other pop-ups where you can simply scan a QR code.

The merchandise from this pop-up store is available for purchase even without experiencing the pop-up itself.

I was surprised by how diverse the merchandise is!

If you’re a fan of EXO’s D.O. (Do Kyungsoo), this is definitely the pop-up store you need to visit.

5th Floor Attractions
Always open for you to explore!

This place is similar to the shops in front of Exit 11 at Gangnam Station, where you can purchase embroidered items with custom markings.

You can have your favorite artist's name, your own name, or even a character engraved on items like keychains, luggage tags, and bags.

If you find yourself with some free time at The Hyundai Seoul, it’s definitely worth stopping by to take a look!

Of course, locals might just stop by because it's cute, but for foreign visitors, it will definitely be a special experience!

This is a paid experience, but if you're interested, it's definitely worth a visit!

You can choose your own patch and create your item right on the spot, as they’ll iron it on for you. So you can leave with your custom-made item immediately!

If you miss out on the experience here, you can also visit a shop near Exit 11 at Gangnam Station. There, you can buy patches and make items like keychains and luggage tags too.

In the B1 Food Hall, there’s always a large pop-up store next to the Five Guys burger shop. The brand usually changes every two weeks.
I recommend having a meal on B1 and then heading over to the pop-up store to check it out!

This time, the pop-up store is hosted by Needle Story, a knitting brand.

✅Needle Story

Dates: May 9th - May 15th
Location: The Hyundai Seoul, B1 Food Hall
Next to Five Guys

Note: On-site reservations are available.

Of course, you can either walk right in or reserve a spot and wait your turn. It depends on the brand and can vary from time to time.

I made a reservation on-site using a QR code for Needle Story.
Of course, there was a waiting time. They estimated an 80-minute wait, but I only waited about 20 minutes before getting in.
I spent those 20 minutes exploring the 5th floor while waiting.

The pop-up zone next to Five Guys is quite spacious.

In the center, there were several bags displayed, and you could buy them as a set, including thread, needles, and even the patterns.

Since there were finished products available, it definitely sparked the desire to buy the patterns! ๐ŸŽ‰

Of course, knitting is all about the needles!

They were selling a variety of items, including knitting needles, crochet hooks, and keychains.

If you’re looking to buy individual items instead of online sets, this is the perfect place to visit!

One of the perks was being able to feel the threads before buying them.

If you’re into knitting, this is definitely a pop-up worth visiting!

The pop-up store is located on B2 (Basement 2nd Floor), right in front of the passageway to Yeouido Station.

This time, the Hanwha Eagles, one of Korea's baseball teams, has held a pop-up store for their fans. Last time, it was hosted by the band Coldplay.

✅Hanwha Eagles Pop-Up✅

Dates: May 8th - May 14th
Location: The Hyundai Seoul, B2 (Basement 2nd Floor)

This is the second most popular pop-up store space at The Hyundai Seoul. The most popular one is the B1 Food Hall, next to Five Guys, which I mentioned earlier.

The pop-up store on B2 is also accessible only through pre-reservation or on-site reservation. The Hanwha Eagles pop-up store is exclusively for fans, so you must pre-reserve to enter. This means that tourists visiting The Hyundai Seoul just for sightseeing won’t be able to enter, as there is no on-site reservation available.

Make sure to visit when other pop-up stores open!
