Visiting Seoul Land and Zoo: Ticketing Tips for Foreign Travelers
🎉 Welcome to Seoul Grand Park!
From this station, you can choose where to go:
🎢 Seoul Land – An amusement park full of rides and seasonal events
🐾 Seoul Zoo – The largest zoo in Korea with animals from all around the world
🔬 Gwacheon National Science Museum – A hands-on science museum perfect for kids and curious minds
🚇 Once you get off the subway, you’ll need to decide which attraction to visit first. Each destination has a different exit:
To go to Seoul Land or Seoul Zoo, take Exit 2
To go to the Science Museum, take Exit 6
💵 Important: Most of these snack vendors only accept cash, so make sure to have some Korean won with you.
You’ll also find vendors selling cute baby hats, small toys, and colorful helium balloons — perfect if you’re visiting with kids!
🎈 And don’t miss the chance to try some local treats like cotton candy and grilled dried squid (ojingeo) — they’re classic Korean snacks that both kids and adults can enjoy.
🐾 What’s Inside Seoul Grand Park?
Seoul Grand Park is a large recreational area that includes both:
-
🎢 Seoul Land – a family-friendly amusement park with rides and seasonal festivals
-
🐘 Seoul Zoo – the largest zoo in Korea, home to animals from all over the world
They’re both located within the same park area, so you can choose to visit one or enjoy both in a day!
Now, the route will depend on which ticket you have.
After exiting from Exit 2, just walk straight while enjoying the view of all the snack stalls and little shops. Soon, you’ll see Wonder Park right ahead.
🎢 Seoul Land
If you’ve purchased any ticket that includes Seoul Land, head straight to Wonder Park and buy your Elephant Train ticket.
Even if you have a Seoul Land ticket that includes the Sky Lift, you must still buy the Elephant Train ticket at Wonder Park and take the train.
The Sky Lift is not for going to Seoul Land — it’s for coming back after you’ve finished your visit.
So, make sure to exchange your lift ticket at Seoul Land, not at the lift ticket booth.
✋Children under 36 months (3 years old) can enter for free.
If you go to the Lift ticket booth, you will need to buy a separate lift ticket.
Also, feel free to eat or enjoy snacks while riding the lift — it’s a nice time to relax and enjoy the view!
🐘 Seoul Zoo
Soon, you’ll see the Lift ticket booth ahead.
Present your Discover Card or online QR barcode to the ticket booth staff, and they will exchange it for your ticket.
You can receive tickets for Adults, Teens, Children, and Toddlers.
Children are ages 6 to 12 years old
Toddlers are ages 3 years to 5 years old.
Children under 36 months (3 years old) can enter for free.
When you take the Sky Lift, you can bring a stroller as long as you fold or detach it. They’ll help you load it onto the lift. Also, feel free to eat or enjoy snacks while riding the lift — it’s a nice time to relax and enjoy the view!
The Sky Lift is divided into Line 1 and Line 2, and each line operates in both upward and downward directions.
So in total, there are four different routes you can take.
Line 2 runs inside the zoo, from the main zoo area up to the top of the zoo, where you can enjoy a nice view and walk downhill while seeing the animals.
If you prefer, you can walk there first and then use your 2 Sky Lift rides for the return trips (downward) — that’s totally fine too!
If you're visiting on Children’s Day, weekends, or during peak seasons (April–May / September–October), be prepared for long lines at the Sky Lift.
Especially, the lift from the zoo entrance to the top of the zoo tends to have the longest wait time, sometimes up to 40 minutes.
In that case, I recommend that you walk up while enjoying the zoo, and then use the Sky Lift for the ride back down from the top to the entrance.
✅ Don’t worry — your ticket can be used for both upward and downward rides, so you’re free to choose the direction!
If you want to visit both the zoo and Seoul Land, here’s an important tip:
The zoo closes earlier, so make sure to go to the zoo first!
After the zoo, it’s just a 5-minute walk to Seoul Land — very easy to get to.
So if you visit the zoo after 4 PM, it might be hard to see the big animals like tigers, elephants, and giraffes.
I recommend coming early in the morning to fully enjoy your zoo visit!
There is no taxi stand at Grand Park Station.
You’ll need to walk to the subway station and take the subway to your next destination.
If the subway is inconvenient and you can’t get back to your hotel, take the subway to Sadang Station and grab a taxi from there.
That’s the only option available.
